Bed Stairs

My daughter moved in with us a while back. Her room is 10'X13', so space is at a premium. She bought a loft bed so she can store her stuff under the bed. When it first arrived we had not given thought to getting in and out of bed. I built the below stairs for her.

Logistics

My cousin's husband, Bill Halsey, clued me in to using magnets for securing removable doors. These bad boys are pretty strong.

I like this style of handle because they are big and make it easy to remove the doors and hold while removing stuff from or putting stuff on the shelves.

These handles have a polished nickel finish. They look a little golden or brassy in the pictures. While working on this web site, I have developed a new appreciation for photographers. Taking good pictures is a lot harder than it looks.

The painted wood is a little slippery. I put stair treads on the steps to make them safer. I definitely would lose father points if I built these steps and my daughter slipped and fell. The Amazon link for the treads I bought is in the parts list.

The treads are 6"X30" and come in packs of 15. I needed two 10 inch pieces. Looks like someone on trashnothing.com will be getting some stair treads.
